Notebook repair and upgrade (off-warranty service)

As a guideline, a usable Celeron or Pentium III notebook, with 64-128 Mb of memory, without working battery, can be bought in Bangkok for as low as 9000 Baht. Consider this price when you make a decision about repairing your old notebook.

Services available:

Diagnostics and thorough cleaning.

Replacing power adapters, fans, burnt modems, LCD panels, keyboards, cracked cases and other parts. Motherboard replacement is sometimes possible, but usually expensive. Power adapters plug conversion.

Replacing batteries. New Lithium-Ion cells are expensive. Count on 3000-4000 Baht for the cells + 1000 Baht for work.

Replacing and upgrading CD and DVD drives, making DVD drives region-free.

CPU and memory upgrade (all old memory modules available). Hard disk replacement and upgrade. Please note what older notebook may not support larger hard disks. Can be checked by the model number (not reliable) or by trial. Sometimes BIOS update is necessary (if available).

USB-serial and USB-parallel adapters for the computers without such ports (to connect LPT printers, GPS, mobile phones etc.) and some other custom cables are available.
