Hyundai HASE-270 ADSL Router

As we understand, this modem is provided free of charge by TOT if you subscribe to ADSL service for 12 months or more. Hyundai seems a strange and a political rather than practical choice to us. TT&T, on the other hand, is providing much more popular and perfectly supported Zyxel routers. From the information on the Hyundai website we guess what DSLAM equipment (used for the ADSL connectivity on the telephone exchange side) on the TOT facilities is also made by Hyundai.

Modem I've tested had a default login name "root" and password "test" and it came with IP address 192.168.1.1. Documentation is absent, even on the manufacturer' website (it has some info on the deal with TOT by the way). Probably the ugliest and most illogical web-interface I ever seen. Sometimes web-interface doesn't respond to browser requests at all. Translation from Korean to English is not finished, as you can see on this DNS config screen, for example:

There is no proper Firewall, only the port filtering. Contrary to our previous statement, this router supports the port forwarding and static DHCP. Please contact us if you need it configured (mostly eMule users :). DNS relay is unreliable. Looks like the common problem with access to Hotmail and MSN Messenger is related to it. We recommend you to enter DNS servers manually into your TCP/IP settings. Modem has a console port and Telnet interface, with some proprietary UNIX-like command set. At least on one office network, this router is sometimes hanging (not responding to ping requests, no traffic is making through). All 4 LED's are constantly ON in this situation. The only solution is to power cycle the router. Perhaps monitoring it through SNMP will help to resolve this issue.

ADSL Filter/Splitter is conveniently integrated into this router.
