TOT problems with HTTPS traffic

July 17th, 2011 No comments

Since July 17 secure web sites work very slowly on TOT ADSL connection. Looks like the problem is Thailand-wide:

It is definitely not blocking, but perhaps traffic shaping gone wrong? We noticed all the other sites are loading a lot slower, and HTTPS protocol is very sensitive to the packet loss…

TOT FTTH Hardware

May 10th, 2011 13 comments

The customer was issued the following hardware for the TOT Fiber optic 10Mbps home package:

Fiber: single fiber, dual wavelength with an SC connector.

Optical Network Unit (ONU): Mitsubishi AS-1000GN2-1GC.

Router: Welltech Computer WG-332S (not even listed on Welltech website). I think I never saw the router without any authentication before! It is a VoIP router with two FXS ports, also one LAN port is labelled (by TOT) as IPTV.

We took the Welltech router out and set up a PPPoE connection from Ubuntu Linux server through Mitsubishi modem.

TOT squid caching proxy error

Getting a lot of these errors today, looks like the connections limit is too low on TOT server?

Cannot send email to self using TOT SMTP

May 27th, 2009 No comments

With several customers we are experiencing a problem when email sent to the same address as From: address through smtp.totisp.net (currently resolving to 118.175.8.10) never makes it to the destination. No errors are reported. One of these customers has both TOT and TT&T ADSL lines; sending through TT&T SMTP works and sending through TOT SMTP does not. We would like to hear from people who experience the same problem.
