We are starting sales of the router fitted with a custom firmware able to wirelessly share a CDMA connection through USB EV-DO modems sold by CAT Telecom. So far we successfully tested our solution with C-motech CCU-650 and CCU-680 modems; we will test it with a new Novatel Wireless Ovation CM727 modem soon. There are the folloving advantages of this solution over a connection sharing from a regular PC:
- Small form factor
- Low power consumption
- Can be easily placed outdoors
- More reliable
- Less expensive
The price of the solution and the basic installation is 6500 baht.
The CDMA signal is too weak in your area? We can install an additional 10.5dBi directional antenna which will extend the range of the USB modem considerably.
UPDATE 17/12/08: The connection speed for CAT CDMA is about 1Mbps downlink.
UPDATE 25/12/08: Novatel Wireless Ovation CM727 is tested and it works with our solution, as well as with Linux and Mac OS X.

We are happy to announce sales of two Multimedia PC models made by ASUS. The dimensions of Nova EP20 are 242x184x51 mm and Nova P22 231 x 184 x 51 mm. Both models are ideal as an elegant-looking media PCs playing content on LCD or Plasma TV; they are small enough to fit the shelf on the boat. Quite a few digital cameras corrupt FAT filesystem when the flash card becomes full. Luckily the images in this case are fully recoverable.
